True to Myself

Life has come a long way since yesterday
And it’s not the same old thing over again
Just do what you feel and don’t you fool yourself
Cause I can’t make you happy unless I am

Bluebird Day

Well this weekend was pretty crazy. Thats all you need to know

I am however so stoked, I am buying my Castle Mountain Ski pass this week and can not wait to shred the hill. !Usually they have pretty good pow, can't wait for the blue bird day. from what I hear. I am also super excited for the New Line Pandoras that I might be investing in. They are so fat it's ridiculous they apparently pretty much glide over the powder. So minty fresh my friends.

I would also like to thank God for this man. Charley Ager the most talented skier out there by far. He is probably one of the most under rated skiers in the industry hopefully in the next couple of years that will change. Check out the Journal Trailer by Poor Boyz and you will see what I mean the nose butter 360 to pillow rock jib 180 out is so sick. Clearly is man deserves more credit. Steeze.

Suprise.

Photos shot with the sick Nikon D60, I just used the basic lens. This is my own work, I wouldn't say that I'm talented but its something that I really enjoy doing. This is only a few of my photos, out of the thousands I have taken.

Don't ask me how I got this butterfly shot, It was 100% pure luck!

Also shout out to the Lutheran artist I love Fabian Marshall aka Mark Rawling. He just put out a new CD The Red Hounds of Valparasio which has a fresh cover of Ring of Fire by Johnny Cash. You won't be able to find him on Limewire, but you can check him out on iTunes and his website. www.fabianmarshall.com. I was fortunate to see him in a small Lutheran church outside of Millet for my JST. He's got different sounds of music ranging from a reggae vibe to mellow music if you want to unwind. Check him out, if your a fan of chill stuff you will for sure enjoy this dude.

Sublime

I woke up to loads of fog today, I had to walk through it and I would check my shoulder 24/7 because I thought some horrid monster of some sort would attack me. I couldn't see the cars driving beside me and I really had no idea when to cross the street so I just kind of guessed..it worked since I'm alive and typing this. However it was kind of cool and very pretty in the valley! I hope it happens more often down in Lethbridge. My roomie is making fun of my blogging as we speak. Shut up and eat your salted lasagna Kristen. My day consisted of nothing really other then writing my last midterm and realizing that I need to clean my room asap. Also today I wore my hair curly for the first time in a long time and forgot just how much I loved it, I went to Timmy's to grab my chocolate milk (heck yes!) when the man behind the counter proceeded to ask me to explain in an intricate detail of how I styled my hair and whether it was fake or not..no trick I just let it air dry and yes its real you creep, he then tried to make casual conversation; I took my chocolate milk and left. While going over my Anthro notes today I popped in an old Sublime CD and I realized that they truly were one of my favorite bands of all time, Bradley Nowell and Friends is also arguably one of the greatest acoustic albums of all time.

If you haven't heard of Sublime or Bradley Nowell, you should definitely hit up iTunes or Limewire/Bitorrent (whatever your morals feel is best) and download their music; your life will be opened to a whole new genre. Also after a hilarious lunch with Kristen and Sophie we went to this really awesome poster sale in the Atrium where I bought a really sweet poster until I realized that she was smoking and joint and had marijuana leaves in the background; smart move. Also since I bought that poster I now realize I'm actually really, really poor. fml.

Forest

I've felt the sudden desire to tell you about my Saturday night that was wild and copious amounts of fun. My friends Maddi, Natasha and Chelsea (my precious little gems) all came over Saturday night for cheap homemade wine, spicy chicken chow mien and a lot of alcohol. I showed off my impressive shot gunning skills, while Natasha awed us with her abilities to make drinks with more alcohol in it then a mixer. I also think that I managed to style Chel's hair mildly intoxicated. We somehow stumbled down to the off campus bar The Duke for some more great times. I woke up with pizza pop and lean cusine plates on my kitchen counter and one mean hang over from my Aunt and Uncles cheap but tasty fruit wine.

Like I said gems.

Madison and her forest.

Madison somehow stumbled across a broken off tree branch which she then started to call her "forest". Every picture that was taken after that had her forest in our photos...which is absolutely hilarious.

Anyways, I guess another reason I'm writing this is to give thanks to the family and the people that have become a part of it. I love you guys.

Blog

Blogging, something I've always wanted to do and now that a few people I know have started their own, I've finally gotten the guts to make one too. I'm not here to post art or fashion, I just am here to talk and post things that I find interesting which may in fact deal with the arts. My name is Tarin, my mother decided the 'i' was cooler then the 'y' therefore putting me through misery by having my name mispelt in phones, awards, and birthday cards. I'm freshly 18 and hail from Calgary, AB. I decided to move down to Lethbridge after a last minute acceptance 3 weeks before the school year had begun. So far I haven't regretted my choices. I was raised in a testosterone fueled sibling environment and am the only girl out of three children, I'm also stuck in the middle. I have two wonderful parents whom I owe everything too and am extremely blessed to have such supportive people. I am a freshmen at the University of Lethbridge trying to Major in German and Minor in Linguistics...don't ask me why I'm doing this I'm not even to sure myself. I've settled into the UofL student lifestyle which seems to be 'party first, study later'. However since I'm now poor I've really cut down on that and have actually hit the books for the first time in my life ever.

That's me in the middle, with the glasses that say 'T PAYNE'

much love.
